About HASCO
In 2021, a new NGO was founded by a young couple Mahramali Eqbalzada (Morteza) & Zakia Omid from Bamyan_Afghanistan, with a mission to support the country’s most vulnerable children. HASCO, or the Help Afghan Street Children Organization, is dedicated to providing education, healthcare, and protection to children who work or even live on the streets. In a country where war, poverty, and neglect have left many children in need of assistance and care, HASCO is working to make a difference.
Who we are?
Our team consists of a group of passionate volunteers who are dedicated to improving the lives of street children in the country. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in all aspects of our work, and we strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. Our efforts are focused on providing education, healthcare, and protection to street children, with the ultimate goal of breaking the cycle of poverty, and supporting the next generation of Afghan youth.
The Problem
The problem of street children in Afghanistan is a significant and complex issue. Poverty, housing insecurity, and conflict have all contributed to the growing number of children who live or work on the streets. These children face a range of risks and challenges, including exploitation, abuse, malnutrition and illness. They also lack access to basic services such as education, healthcare, and social services. HASCO is working to address these issues by providing a safe and supportive environment for them.

Our Approach
We take a holistic and child-centered approach to working with street children. We provide a range of services, including primary education at our school in Bamyan as well as healthcare addressing the physical, emotional, and social needs of the children. In addition to providing meals and distribution of emergency food packages and fuel in winter, we also created a kindergarten for orphans and provide 24-hour services for them. Our programs are designed to be flexible and responsive, so that we can adapt to the changing need of the children we serve.
Our Achievements
1. Education is one of the key factors in breaking the cycle of poverty and improving the long-term prospects of these children. By providing access to education, together we can work to open doors for these children, increasing their chances at building a better future.
2. Since our inception in 2021 we have distributed emergency food packages to more than 500 families, many of whom have children in our program. These families are living in poverty and struggle to provide basic necessities for their children. By providing them with essential food items, we are ensuring that the children have access to healthy meals and can focus on their education and development.
3. Our aim in establishing the kindergarten for 20 orphaned children has been to create a safe and nurturing environment for them. We foster their social welfare and emotional development by providing them with a stable environment, opportunities for learning, playing, and interacting with other children.
The challenges
We face significant challenges when working with street children in Afghanistan. Despite such obstacles as funding shortages and security concerns, our organization remains devoted to our commitment to support vulnerable children.

Our Plans
Looking to the future, HASCO has ambitious plans to further expand the programs and services we offer to reach even more children in need. To do this, we are working towards building strong partnerships with other organizations within and beyond Afghanistan. By working together, we can create a more effective and sustained impact on the lives of street children. We also plan to engage the wider community in informational sessions to bring greater awareness to the issues street children are facing in Afghanistan. We want to promote the importance of providing them with access to education and preventing the proliferation of child labor. With the support of compassionate donors and volunteers, we can continue to transform the lives of street children in Afghanistan, and ultimately, create a brighter future for all children in the country. Our organization is determined to continue making a difference in the lives of those most vulnerable, and we are looking forward to collaborating with others who share our vision and values.

Conclusion
At HASCO, we are passionate about our mission and we believe that our collective efforts have the power to transform the lives of those we serve. Despite the challenges that we face, we believe that every child deserves a chance to succeed, and we're grateful for the support of our volunteers and partners, supporters, and benefactors in making this vision a reality.
Note
In the beginning, we had started our activity under the name of Working Children, and at the time of registration, we changed our name to HASCO.
